Climate-related disclosures to become compulsory for many UK companies and LLPs

Following on from a consultation earlier this year, the UK government has announced new rules which will require many UK-registered companies and financial institutions to disclose information on their governance and management of climate-related risks and opportunities, as well as analysis of their business's resilience to climate scenarios. 

The new rules are based on the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and will apply in respect of financial years starting from 6 April 2022 onwards.
