EU: ESMA's vision for sustainable investments: video

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has recently published an opinion on the Sustainable Finance Regulatory Framework.

Watch our latest video with Alexander Vogt and Nicola Zeibig to explore ESMA's long-term vision for sustainable investments.

Our key take-aways of ESMA’s position:

  1. EU Taxonomy as the core reference point to be embedded in all relevant sustainable finance legislation.
  2. Creation and enhancement of tools to support a transition pathway and introduction of a “transition investments” definition.
  3. Mandatory sustainability disclosures for all financial products.
  4. Establishment of new voluntary product categorisation system.
  5. Introducing ESG data products into regulatory regime.
  6. Enhancing due diligence obligations for financial and non-financial sector and establishment of an EU level stewardship code.
